Compensation: $45 to $50 per hour, W2 (on the books)

A private family in Englewood, NJ, is seeking an experienced Full-Time Private Chef to prepare fresh, high-quality daily meals and manage the household’s kitchen and food needs. The ideal candidate is organized, flexible, personable, and skilled in healthy family-style cooking, menu planning, grocery shopping, and accommodating dietary preferences.

Main Work Duties:
  • Prepare high-quality daily meals for the family
  • Plan menus based on family preferences and schedules
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks as needed
  • Grocery shop and source quality ingredients
  • Maintain pantry, refrigerator, and food inventory
  • Accommodate allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests
  • Prepare meals for casual entertaining and small dinner parties
  • Handle advance meal preparation when appropriate
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and well stocked
  • Properly store food and manage freshness and expiration dates
  • Coordinate with household staff regarding meals, schedules, and entertaining needs

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Private Chef in a private residence.
  • Strong everyday cooking and meal-preparation skills.
  • Experience planning menus and preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
  • Knowledge of healthy, balanced cooking and dietary accommodations.
  • Comfortable preparing family-style meals and meals for small gatherings.
  • Strong grocery shopping, ingredient sourcing, and pantry-management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety, proper storage, and inventory management.
  • Organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple meal-related priorities.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with household staff.
  • Strong professional references.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
