Schedule: Flexible; weekday hours preferred with a 12:00 PM start. Some weekend childcare/family support may be needed, especially Saturday and/or Sunday.
Hours: Approximately 12:00 PM–7:00 PM, with flexibility
Compensation: $35–$45 per hour

A busy family of five in Katonah, NY is seeking a dependable, proactive, and highly organized Housekeeper / Household Assistant to become a long-term member of their household. The home is professionally deep cleaned every two weeks, and the family also employs two full-time nannies, so this role focuses primarily on organization, laundry, light daily upkeep, meal preparation, household support, and helping the home run smoothly.
The family is looking for someone who is kind, team-oriented, and interested in building a long-term relationship with them, ideally for at least three years or longer. Spanish speaking is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain organization throughout the home, including closets, drawers, cabinets, storage rooms, utility spaces, pantry, refrigerator, freezer, linen closets, and seasonal storage.
- Keep children’s clothing, toys, books, crafts, and play areas organized.
- Develop and maintain household organization systems.
- Assist with light daily kitchen upkeep, including loading/unloading the dishwasher, handwashing cookware, wiping surfaces, organizing the refrigerator and pantry, and monitoring food freshness.
- Handle family laundry, including washing, drying, folding, putting away, ironing/steaming, stain treatment, bedding, towels, and household linens.
- Monitor household inventory, create shopping lists, restock essentials, organize deliveries, and keep storage areas orderly.
- Assist with meal preparation, including simple family meals, ingredient prep, batch cooking, grocery organization, and light meal planning.
- Prepare guest rooms and assist with dinner parties, table setting, serving pieces, entertaining setup, and cleanup.
- Provide light housekeeping between professional cleanings, including making beds, tidying living spaces, emptying trash/recycling, light vacuuming or spot cleaning, and maintaining the overall appearance of the home.
- Work collaboratively with the parents and two full-time nannies to support the children’s meals, tidy children’s spaces, and help during busy family routines.
- Assist with household projects, mail and packages, dry cleaning, donations, gift wrapping, holiday decorating/storage, plant care, and preparing the home before and after vacations.
- Help coordinate service appointments, vendors, household manuals, warranties, and general household systems.
- Keep the pool area, gym area, and nanny spaces tidy as needed.
Temporary Sunday Family Support
Through approximately Summer 2027, the family would appreciate additional Sunday afternoon/evening support, including:
- Assisting with family dinner.
- Cleaning up the kitchen after dinner.
- Helping parents during bath time and bedtime routines.
- Completing laundry or household reset tasks to prepare for the week.
After Summer 2027, Sunday hours are expected to end, and the regular weekday schedule will continue.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of housekeeping experience in a private home, luxury residence, estate, or similar environment.
- Experience working in UHNW homes is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working as part of a housekeeping team is highly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation.
- English and Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
