A private household in Bridgehampton, NY, is seeking an experienced, hands-on House Manager/Housekeeper to oversee the daily care, organization, and smooth operation of the residence. This role combines detailed housekeeping with household management responsibilities and is best suited for a proactive professional who is equally comfortable maintaining the home and coordinating its day-to-day needs.

Main Responsibilities:
Housekeeping:
  • Perform and oversee detailed daily and deep cleaning throughout the residence.
  • Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living spaces, and common areas to a consistently high standard.
  • Handle household laundry, linens, ironing, steaming, and wardrobe care.
  • Make beds, change linens, and maintain organized closets and storage areas.
  • Properly care for fine furniture, artwork, antiques, delicate surfaces, and specialty materials.
  • Keep the residence organized, polished, and guest-ready at all times.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and household products and arrange for restocking as needed.

Household Management:
  • Oversee the daily operation and general upkeep of the residence.
  • Create and maintain household schedules, routines, checklists, and organizational systems.
  • Coordinate household vendors, contractors, maintenance appointments, and deliveries.
  • Provide access to service providers and supervise work completed in the home.
  • Identify maintenance concerns and ensure repairs are addressed promptly.
  • Manage household inventories and maintain records of supplies, equipment, and service needs.
  • Assist with preparing the home for family arrivals, guests, events, and seasonal transitions.
  • Coordinate with family members and other household staff to ensure priorities are completed.
  • Run errands, complete household shopping, and assist with special projects as needed.
  • Maintain discretion and protect the family’s privacy at all times.

Qualifications and Required Qualities:
  • Several years of experience as a House Manager, Estate Manager, Executive Housekeeper, or senior household professional.
  • Strong hands-on housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience working in a high-end private residence.
  • Knowledge of caring for fine furnishings, artwork, antiques, delicate fabrics, and specialty surfaces.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, maintenance, and household projects.
  • Highly organized with excellent time-management and multitasking abilities.
  • Proactive and able to recognize and address household needs independently.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional, discreet, trustworthy, and dependable.
  • Flexible and willing to assist with a wide variety of household responsibilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong professional references.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
