Schedule: 5 working days per week with 2 days off
Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 per year, on the books

A private estate is seeking an experienced, hands-on Groundsman / Caretaker to help maintain the property to a high standard. This is a working role for someone with strong handyman ability, solid estate maintenance experience, and a proactive attitude. The ideal candidate has at least 2–5 years of experience working on a private estate, takes pride in the appearance and upkeep of the property, and is comfortable handling a wide range of indoor and outdoor responsibilities.
This is not a management position. The family is seeking someone who is highly dependable, practical, detail-oriented, and willing to take a hands-on approach to the day-to-day care of the estate.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform general handyman tasks for the interior and exterior of the home.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs of the property to check the furnace, water pipes, run taps, and flush toilets.
- Monitor the overall condition of the estate and promptly address minor repairs and maintenance needs.
- Assist with odd jobs and special projects as needed.
- Maintain the appearance of the grounds, including lawns, driveway areas, and outdoor spaces.
- Blow leaves, remove debris, sticks, and other outdoor clutter.
- Water all plants, potted arrangements, and designated outdoor areas.
- Help maintain the golf green and sand traps.
- Work alongside the gardener to ensure flower beds, ornamental trees, and shrubs are properly cared for.
- Assist with swimming pool upkeep, including emptying filters and coordinating with the pool service. company.
- Set up, store, and maintain outdoor furniture for the main house and pool area.
- Support seasonal outdoor property needs to keep the estate fully functional and well presented.
- Oversee the upkeep of cars and scooters, including cleaning and coordinating service appointments.
- Assist with boat upkeep, including seasonal cleaning, batteries, and coordination with the marina regarding docks and lines.
- Safely handle tools, equipment, and machinery related to estate maintenance.
- Remove garbage from the main house daily, including weekends.
- Manage FedEx, UPS, and other household deliveries.
- Maintain storage areas, including inventory organization and cleanliness.
- Provide backup support to the cleaning staff with tasks such as washing windows, gym cleaning, and polishing.
- Acquire bids for work to be completed by outside contractors.
- Coordinate and supervise outside contractors on the property.
- Assist with the oversight of daily and weekly maintenance projects.
- Provide driving support as needed, including airport runs, errands, school drop-offs/pickups, and other miscellaneous transportation.
- Assist when the employer hosts events, including setup and general support as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2–5 years of caretaker/groundsman experience working on a private estate.

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Able to coordinate vendors and outside contractors effectively.
