Days: Mon - Fri.
Hours: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM.
Compensation: $35 to $40 per hour. Paid on the books
Additional Benefits: PTO.

A family in Summit, NJ is seeking a full-time Family Assistant to support both childcare and household management. Responsibilities include assisting with the children’s morning and after-school routines, school transportation, homework supervision, light-to-full housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, errands, and maintaining an organized, smoothly run home. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and enjoys supporting a busy family environment.
Main Work Duties:
Childcare & School Support:
- Morning routine assistance: preparing breakfast, helping children get ready for school.
- School drop-offs and pick-ups.
- Coordination of extracurricular activities.
- Supervising homework and ensuring assignments are completed.
- Organizing school materials, backpacks, and schedules.
- Encouraging structure, independence, and responsibility.
- Planning occasional educational or enriching activities.
- Household Management.
- Light-to-full housekeeping (daily upkeep and tidiness of common areas).
- Laundry care: washing, folding, ironing, and wardrobe organization.
- Bed-making and maintaining orderly bedrooms.
- Monitoring household supplies.
- Grocery shopping and inventory tracking.
- Running household errands.
General Household Support:
- Preparing healthy breakfasts and after-school snacks.
- Cooking simple, nutritious family meals as needed.
- Assisting with basic meal planning aligned with children’s preferences and dietary needs.
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization after food preparation.
- Supporting the principal in maintaining a well-run, welcoming home.

Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ solid years of family assistant experience in a private household.
- Excellent references from both current and previous employers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must speak and be able to communicate well in English.
- Authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
- Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
