IMPORTANT: This is a Family Assistant role, not a traditional nanny position. Candidates must be comfortable balancing childcare responsibilities with hands-on household support and family logistics.
Position Details: Part-Time, Live-Out
Location: New Rochelle, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: Approximately 2:00 PM–7:00 PM. Monday–Thursday may require longer hours, with fewer hours on Friday. The position will total 25+ hours per week.
Compensation: $40–$45 per hour
Additional Benefits: Mutually agreed-upon vacation and sick time

A warm, active family of five in New Rochelle, NY, is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and dependable Family Assistant to help manage the afternoon flow of the household.
The family has three children, ages 15, 13, and 10, and is looking for someone who can confidently balance household responsibilities with school pickups, activities, homework, meals, and general afternoon supervision.
This is an ideal role for someone who naturally notices what needs attention, takes ownership of tasks, and enjoys helping a busy household stay organized and running smoothly.
Main Responsibilities:
Household Support:
- Handle family laundry, including washing, folding, and putting items away.
- Reset the kitchen and common areas daily.
- Maintain organization throughout bedrooms and household spaces.
- Organize closets, drawers, pantry areas, and household storage.
- Complete errands, returns, and grocery shopping.
- Monitor and restock household essentials.
- Manage incoming packages and household deliveries.
- Assist with light meal and dinner preparation.
- Clean up the kitchen and properly store leftovers after meals.
- Proactively identify household needs and address them without needing constant direction.
Child & Family Support:
- Pick up children from school.
- Provide safe transportation to sports, activities, appointments, and other commitments.
- Help keep children on track with homework and afternoon responsibilities.
- Coordinate and manage afternoon schedules.
- Prepare snacks and simple dinners.
- Provide responsible supervision until the parents are available.
- Communicate with parents regarding schedules, changes, and anything requiring attention.
Required Qualities:

Cooking Requirement:
Light meal and dinner preparation is required approximately two to three days per week. Responsibilities may include putting together simple family meals, heating or finishing prepared foods, following basic recipes or instructions, cleaning the kitchen, and putting away leftovers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Family Assistant, Household Assistant, or in a similar private household role.
- Experience working with school-age children, tweens, and teenagers.
- Strong household organization and time-management skills.
- Comfortable managing laundry, errands, grocery shopping, and household upkeep.
- Comfortable preparing simple family meals.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Confident and experienced driver.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong professional references.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
